Just stop playing the fucking anthem and be done with it.

So, only a team fine of a player comes out, and takes a knee, unless the team takes further action against the player.

This could still be a disaster.

See, to me, more rules, and rigidly defined rules, just fuels the fire.

Now the SUPER-PATRIOTS will be doing headcounts to target players who don't come out for the anthem.

Maybe, but the fire was being plenty fueled the other way as well. Might as well try something different.

How well this works may depend on whether President Blowhole decides to make an issue of it again. If the season opens with another Trump tweet-storm blasting players who don't come out ...yep, fire will be fueled. If not, fans might finally get bored of the story and it blow over ...after all, counting heads is harder than looking for kneelers, who wants to do math when you're liquored up on gameday?

It certainly should be, considering it’s only happening because the president of the United States started whining about it and the rule is clearly at his behest.

We should probably not prosecute any MS-13 members, even for rape and murder, since we only care because of Trump.

That will show him, help to lessen the the racism in America.

I expect the Pledge of Allegiance to move from Facebook posts to captive crowds next. "Rise and pledge, citizens!"

First we go to court, as the union contends the rule belongs under the CBA and they had no input (have no idea how that goes). If the owners win, there will be resistance in some form making matters worse all around. If the union wins, I don't see how the rule stands without reopening the CBA. So that'd be the owners shooting themselves in the balls, not the foot.
