What an odd question to take the heat about. Nunes is in a very Republican district, but one way Congresspeople in safe districts lose their jobs is by giving the home folks the idea they've gone all Washington and forgotten the district's mundane concerns.

If they were going to issue him a permanent clearance before the FBI background check was complete, or in spite of what it showed, they could have already done it.

And, if it did turn up red flags, and they gave him the clearance anyway, I'm sure sonee of our great reporters, with FBI contacts, would be reporting that.

This is what politicians do. They hire people to help them choose the word or phrase. You think "Dream Act" and other terms are chosen at random? Frank Luntz, among others, has made a carer out of this. "Death Tax" is one of Luntz' claims to fame.

The incredible thing about Trump is that he does this without any focus group or advisors. It's a natural talent, and part of why, regardless of anything else, he's always been master marketer.

 

Where's the reporting to back up this claim?
