Muddled? Only if you are willfully ignorant is it muddled.

    LOL.

@poindexter says it's muddled for one demographic. @Azrael asks who muddled it.

But, a minute later they deny it's muddled.

    Um, OK.

    Sure. OK.

And, even if true, that's a problem.

Not sure why that's hard for you to accept.

What is it that you find muddled?

What you say is true. However, it has become amorphous and unclear regarding specifically what the kneeling is protesting. As I recall, when it began, it was rather narrowly focused on the issue of police abuse, but later people starting saying it was a protest of all white supremacy, then to racism in general, and then the right side began interpreting it as a protest of our military, the red white blue, and everything God-lovin Murica is about. And, as @Alma noted, now it kinda seems to be a protest simply about being allowed to protest. Might help if we had a clearer understanding of what the point is.

That said, I agree that no player should ever be forced to stand. The notion of making displays of patriotic allegiance mandatory nauseates me. But I'm not convinced the option of allowing players to remain in the locker room to avoid it is an unreasonable one. If the NFL had allowed that from the beginning, this entire mess might've been avoided.

Perhaps I will. Moddy deserves a good laugh, even if it is at my expense.

Apparently, the difference between a college campus and a football stadium have escaped you.
