The whole story was an attempt to make it look like they weren’t on the same page.

Trump acknowledged that it might not be able to held it as soon as the original date.

But, because he said it could potentially happen as soon as that date, the press tried to get a spokesperson to say that was impossible.

The spokesperson acknowledged the difficulties in getting it back on that soon, as Trump did, but never said it was impossible.

The Times reported he said it was impossible.

    Who “twisted words”?

The spokesperson never said it was impossible.

Criticizing Trump is easy. Why is the press so bad at it? Why aren’t they more careful with their words? Why don’t they admit their errors?

Why? He could deny the existence of the Statue of Liberty and FoxNews republican congressmen and right wing radio and their supporters would agree with him or remain silent. This is how dictators are created. Right wing radio and websites are fixated on the fact that America is not a democracy but a republic. Less liberty is more freedom by right wing to supress your rights

So YankeeFan isn't even going to offer up a "fair enough." This is the evidence of you running away from arguments when you're losing. This includes trying multiple ways to change the subject after two posters explained why your point about the use of "Dangerous" in that headline was wrong.

This is why I didn't have to go back and dig up old evidence. I knew it wouldn't be long before you did the same crap again. Thank you for that.

By the way, the "fair enough" is overdue on the kneeling thread, too.

“Well, obviously he meant it didn’t ALWAYS exist, or are you saying the Statue of Liberty has been in New York harbor for all time? What a bunch of idiots reporters are!! Why are they lying about the Statue of Liberty?”

YankeeFan might be elected the Snake Pit’s chief spokesperson and acting plenipotentiary.

Because it is. "10 minutes from now" means exactly what you think it might in regards to this situation.

In this specific situation, the phrase for all intents and purposes = impossible ... so what was printed was not a mistruth.

If the summit happens on June 12, come back to this post and I will lavish you with praise.

Basically what he said was that the meeting was already being set on an extremely short schedule before Trump cancelled it. Once that happened, understandably, planning prep stopped, or at the least became far less urgent. Now Trump says the summit is back on. The official was saying that getting the diplomatic prep and position work done that fast was near impossible. Oh, we can show up... but our team will be unprepared, or even more unprepared than they were going to be, to sit down with Nork diplos who have dealt with U.S. diplomatic positions for years and are far more knowledgeable than our team will be. Trump finally announced an ambassador to South Korea a month ago. What is his depth of knowledge of the issues going to be?
