I've been observing this thread and thinking about it in the context of South Florida, where I lived for 30 years. If you're merely being honked at, rightly or wrongly, you're fortunate. It's much more common that you'll be given the finger -- for many South Floridians, it's the equivalent of "have a nice day." And such seemingly minor incidents all too often escalate into full-blown cases of road rage, especially in Miami-Dade and Broward. Better just to drive away and not let the horn or the obscene gesture bother you too much, though I'll admit it wasn't easy sometimes.

 

I'm starting to take your photographer's side now.
