I thought perhaps they'd seen something in Hackenberg the rest of us didn't when they cut Bryce Petty before him. Now, I don't know if he makes it out of Oakland's preseason.

How many of these guys were playing when they shouldn't have been even 10 years ago?

Also, why do these stories keep referring to middling players as stars? Shea McLellin is not an NFL star.

Was gonna say, I think it's unprecedented for a living, healthy Hall of Famer. It happens all the time with the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, but can't remember it in sports.
