Anti-Israel does not automatically mean anti-Jewish.

One of my Trumpist colleagues got into a discussion of this with me recently. Of course, he went right on with the talking points. I said not all Jewish people are Zionists. I mentioned that a very high percentage of Jewish people vote Democratic. Without thinking, he told me they were self-hating Jews. All I really had to do was raise an eyebrow before he noticed the taste of shoe in his mouth. It was a thoughtless regurgitation of talking points, which he realized the moment he considered what he was saying about me. I'm closer to the middle of the road than he or you would give me credit for, but we both know he sees me as a Democrat. By that logic, he had just called me a self-hating Jew.

    Heh. That depends, of course.

Had the Red Army dominated the Nazis at the beginning of Operation Barbarossa --- instead of getting knocked on its heels --- the United States would have backed Germany.

"If we see that Germany is winning the war, we ought to help Russia; and if that Russia is winning, we ought to help Germany, and in that way let them kill as many as possible."
    --- Then-Sen. Harry S Truman, 1941

Putin and the rest of the Trumpers around here must be so proud of their puppet.

Ellison has a long history of anti-Semitism, including working for the Nation of Islam run by Louis Farrakhan, a man with whom he has dined. In case you feel like making excuses for anyone who associates with Calypso Gene, here's some recent reading.

Farrakhan Weighs in on #MeToo and the Jews—and It's a Doozy

Hey Twitter, while you're banning people you might want to check out Louis Farrakhan's feed

Update: He had his check mark taken away! That'll teach him!

It is pathetic that you talk about other people rooting for laundry. Middle of the road. LOL. You are willing to ignore stuff like this because Ellison and the candidate I brought up are Democrats.

Hell, even Shaun King, a complete fraud and race-baiter, has condemned Farrakhan.

But you tell me all about what these folks really mean when they make vile remarks about Jews and work to push their "anti-Israel" narratives of hate.

I'm not ignoring it. Where did I defend Ellison? Where did I defend the one of eight candidates for that one seat? I didn't.

I'm making a point that you and others need to understand that being anti-Israel does not mean you hate Jewish people. I don't root for laundry and I certainly don't paint all members of ether party with a broad brush the way you do.

Of course, you glanced over the opinion that seems to be held by many on your side, that Jews who don't vote Republican must hate themselves because they aren't voting for the party that tends to be more supportive of Israel. Of course, that's a bit of stereotyping on its own, assuming that all Jews should vote based solely on Israel.

There are bigots in both parties, especially if you want to go the guilty-by-association route.
