Odds we'll ever hear anything like this about any subject ever by this goon?

Wow. This is a first. Someone looking back on the Winter of Discontent with fondness.

For what it's worth, I'm American but I've lived in London since 1994. I'm not a big fan of some of the changes that have been made, particularly over the cost of living. (....Look me tell you about the huge studio flat I was able to rent in Shepherd's Bush for 50 pounds a week, one which took me about twelve hours of work to cover.) And it's sad to see the used bookstores disappearing along the Charing Cross Road.

That being said, those changes happened because Thatcher won - for the worse, I believe - the economic argument. When that ethos came in, everything was up for grabs. You want to blame someone, blame the Iron Lady.

For those who voted Remain, we did so in the full knowledge of the warts of the EU. The huge bureaucracy. The waste. Sometimes it made it hard to defend in the face of the Leave's never-never fantasy land of Britain pre-1973. Or frankly, in the face of the xenophobes.

Europe is Britain's biggest trading partner by far and no amount of new deals with the rest of the world is going to replace that. Already, we've seen anemic growth this year. And as they're kicking foreigners out, that especially includes Americans. Have you tried to get a work visa lately?

Anyway, London's always been a shitty soul-killing city. Dirty and grimy and really, the closer in you got, not fit for a human being. But another level, I think what makes it special still remains. The history and the sheer mass of humanity. Some of the trees have been cut down hut the forest is still there.

So the Prime Minister of Canada is a dirty backstabbing liar who deserves a special place in hell and the Hereditary Dictator of North Korea is a smart and talented man who loves his country?

IS there a conservative left who has a moral value and a backbone? Didn’t think so.

Yes. And men argue with their wives and shake hands with their business adversaries to get a deal done. Life ain't always simple.

Are you implying because of tariffs Americans won’t be able to travel to Canada by land? Is that a serious post?

The United States has dealt with horrible dictators forever when it was believed it was in our own interests. We almost never picked stupid fights with friendly nations before. Is the "agreement" with North Korea in our interest? Can't tell yet. We can't tell what Trump will think of it by the time his plane reaches Andrews AFB.

    that’s a knuckle dragging analogy.
You don’t constantly and publicly degrade and insult your wife while wrapping your arms around a rapist and murderer. And you certainly don’t do that as the President of the United States with your closest allies and trading partners so you can snuggle with a two bit dictator of the least poductive nation on the planet.

The excuse making for this horribly petulant megalomaniac is going to be tragic.
