    Episode Six: The Two Dictators

Fresh off a disastrous G7 meeting where Donald Trump trashed America's closest allies, the president flew directly to Singapore. There, he met North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un for a much-hyped summit. Trump effusively praised his counterpart, a man who killed family members in order to consolidate power in his homeland. The resulting document of this bizarre episode proved to be vague and weak. Back home, his party (which ripped Trump's predecessor for "cozying up to dictators") predictably lavished praise on the 45th president. The summit ultimately served as a metaphor for Trump's presidency: flashy, pointless and insubstantial.

Judge in the anti-trust case is letting the AT&T purchase of Time Warner go through.

The fact that our justice department pursued this was horrifying. It was Donald Trump trying to act like a dictator -- a vendetta against CNN, and Jeff Sessions did his bidding.

The judge put no conditions on the deal and the merger can go through in the next couple of days.

In my opinion, the government should have to cover the money that was wasted litigating this -- with Americans knowing exactly how and why those resources were wasted.

After allowing the Comcast-NBCU merger, the government had no leg to stand on (yeah, I know that was Obama, the government is supposed to follow its own precedents, judges prefer it). For the record, as public policy I find these media mega-mergers problematic, but it would require vigorous reinforcement of anti-trust law by Congress to alter 30 years or so of judicial and executive interpretation of current law to change it.

It paves the way for Comcast to now make its bid for Fox -- it will likely happen tomorow morning.

Of course, there won't be tweets about that one or our justice department sending an army of lawyers after them. But that's because unlike CNN, Trump is desperate for Rupert Murdoch's approval. Trump's behavior (and the justice department selectively doing his bidding) is transparent and is plain and simply abuse of power.

I guess when making fun of Low IQ individuals, it helps to spell a 3 letter word incorrectly. Jesus.
