Class, what percentage of the vote did DiBlasio get not seventh months ago?

 

The California thing is never, ever going to happen.

Even if it passes -- and the majority of the state isn't THAT stupid -- it would have to be approved by both houses of the state legislature. In other words, the lawmakers would have to vote to eliminate their own jobs.

Then, it goes to congress. Unless it can be jammed through with no Democratic support it's dead in the water. Democrats can count on all of the electoral votes going blue. If the bill passes, only two-thirds are blue. (California and North California are comfortable Democratic, and South California would likely be dependably Republican.)

 

It wasn’t a very contested election. Especially in the primary

It's a good question. Not sure it would be worth the tradeoff for 20 electoral votes.

 

The north would be the richest state. And control much of the water the other states would need. Water issues are a complex issue in California.
