Um, well for ONE, we got three Americans released from prison. For two, we at least have a deal that he WILL denuclearize, and ONCE AGAIN (I have to point this out because you didn't get it the first time) if he DOES NOT, what have we lost? Tell me, how does NK have 1 and we have zero? What did he get from us?

This summit JUST HAPPENED. Like JUST THE OTHER DAY. We don't know at THIS POINT if we will get nothing out of this, something out of this, or everything out of this. And thus far, we have lost NOTHING.

Well, Obama met with Castro, where we absolutely got nothing. Zip. Zero. Nada.

Utter bullshit. The wording merely stated that NK will "work toward" denuclearization, not "will" denuclearize. There's a huge difference between those two phrasings. The latter means something, the former means nothing (hence why NK has made the same statement many other times) as it commits them to do nothing specific whatsoever.

Moreover, even the vague and meaningless "work toward" statement was NOT negotiated by Trump. Instead, South Korea already got that statement from him in April (and the agreement even explicitly acknowledged that the provision was merely "Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration."). Trump achieved nothing whatsoever toward denuclearization here.

And, although the release of three hostages was undoubtedly a good thing, I might remind you that happened about six weeks ago. It was not something negotiated, talked about or achieved at this summit.

    Again.

What did we give up to get those 3 hostages?

Does anyone anywhere have any idea?

Who knows how much ransom Trump paid in order to make himself look good.

Rainman is a mindless Trumpist twit and should essentially be ignored. No sense in arguing with him.

He's a clown. And there was no "agreement." An agreement when it comes to that sort of thing has deliverables and timetables. He got the carpet salesman / "real estate mogul" version of an agreement. Not much sizzle and zero steak.

He is such a douche. This morning, there was an impromptu press conference outside the White House. He did 15 minutes of bullshit artistry that had my mouth hanging open (you'd think I'd learn by now).

So one question is about the G7 and Russia having been expelled, and he does the same, "Russia should be in; blah blah blah."

So a reporter says, "Well, they were expelled because they invaded Ukraine and annexed Crimea."

And Trump immediately shifts to (not an exact quote, but close): "Crimea was Obama's fault! I'll say it again, so the fake news media gets it right. Crimea was Obama."

Reporter asks what he is talking about and he says, "“President Obama lost Crimea just so you understand, this was before I got there. President Obama lost Crimea.”

In one question, you got every morsel of his shallow reason for being: 1) Put down his predecessor, 2) self aggrandize, 3) Ignore the wider issue (that Russia annexed Crimea, not Barack Obama) and lay out any line of bullshit it takes to attack someone else and try to puff himself up.

Amazing that you're so confident that DPRK will denuclearize, unlike when they made the exact same promise in 1985, 1992, 1994, 2005, 2007 and 2012. What did DPRK get in return for this meaningless promise it has made so many times before? A commitment to end joint military exercises in the region, which is a major blow to our readiness. This agreement is a disaster on its face. Maybe Trump will be able to salvage it, but it sure looks like he went into the negotiation unprepared and came out with a bad deal.

Actually he did. IF they do denuclearize then we will stop military exercises in South Korea. My point is, why don’t we wait to see what happens before we pass judgment. If North Korea does get rid of their nukes and they open themselves up to freedom and capitalism, that would be a good thing, right?

Yes, that was weeks ago. That’s still a win for the U.S.. Much more than Obama did for Otto Warmbier.
