Bullshit. You are making up provisions that don't exist. They did NOT promise to denuclearize, but instead only to "work toward" it. But we DID promise something specific, to end the joint military exercises without a denuclearization contingency.

We'll have no grounds to claim they breached the agreement even if they don't denuclearize, because nobody knows what the vague words "work toward" even mean. Whereas they WILL be able to claim we broke our promise if we conduct another joint exercise.

We promised something specific and measurable, they promised something vague and meaningless. One's gotta be crazy stupid to think that a favorable exchange for our side.

I was told repeatedly by Iranian Atomic Energy spokesman Rush Limbaugh that these nuclear "agreements" can be undone with a screwdriver, and are therefore worthless.

    Was I misinformed?

Well, it’s at least a start. And it’s way out of the box thinking on how the hell to do this. I agree on all that.

Let’s see what is agreed to when Rocketman comes to the White House.

It’s bewildering - but the Administration depends so much on flash and ego, and Rocketman seems to as well. They’re both going to keep stroking each other’s ego and have to show some meaningful forward progress and not bullshit at some point.

I think a deliberate long game is being played here to keep this drawn out as continually developing forward progress and good news, through the midterm elections and probably into 2020 as a major campaign boost.

It’s not going to be one summit. Sign, wrap up, and now you do that and we do this, and the issue quietly fades.

No, this is going to be a continual visit here, summit there, thus generating pomp and circumstance and a lot of news coverage and talk.

It keeps the egos in the forefront of the news.

    Anyway, that’s my current take.

And please, don’t start calling me a Trumpist, racist, etc. I don’t like a lot of what has transpired in the past 17 months, and believe me, I have my doubts.

But I do remain hopeful that some good things come out of this clusterfuck, and then the country heals itself after 4 or 8 years.

    Can things get any worse?

(Don’t answer that! You’ll get nightmares.)

A rather irrelevant question in this instance.

There is NO "nuclear agreement" to be undone here, as there's not a single specific thing NK agreed to do regarding its nukes.

You realize every recent president had freed hostages from North Korea, right? That’s a good thing that happened, but it’s far from unprecedented.

Everything that NK agreed to, it had agreed to previously, mostly with more restrictive terms. After doing so they developed their program to the point that Trump was threatening to "rain fire and fury" down on them. What, specifically, has North Korea agreed to that changes their position?

If I thought for one second Trump had the attention span to oversee such a process, I'd be tempted to agree with you. But the evidence so far indicates he thinks the whole issue is already resolved and over.

That's a good start. Maybe Michael Cohen will go on and flip today and we'll see if we get Saturday Night Massacre 2.0.
