Hey NBA, I'd love for you to release the voting from the major awards.

    "Progress" to what?

They've just experienced the four most successful seasons in franchise history, with four straight Eastern Conference titles and a World Championship only two years ago. Do you think there's some higher level that franchise can progress to without LBJ?

If James Harden wins the MVP, does anybody hear it?

James has arguably his best all around season. He played more games than ever. Played more minutes than in the last 9 years, took more shots and had more rebounds than in the last 8 years.
No one is trying to come to Cleveland to play as a FA. Maybe its because no one want to leave a good situation to play with LeBron for only 1 year. Progress means they should have a plan to acquire talent year by year over the next 5 years to keep LeBron and build around him. It’s possible James can replicate last season and carry a similar team on his back. But it would be a smart organization that can plan to lesser the load James has to carry by acquiring better complimentary players, cause Dwayne Wade and Derrick Rose and Isaiah Thomas aren’t walking through that door, again.

    Wade and Rose might.
    They're just not helpful.

As a Cavs fan, I'm a bit tired of the yearly circus. A weird part of me wants him to leave, the Cavs to blow it up again so I can root for whatever the 2018 equivalent of Bob Sura and DeSagana Diop is and be able to afford to go to games again. Thanks for the title, LeBron.

*I'm fully aware this means the franchise is moving out of Cleveland in the next couple decades. Put it in Columbus. I'm cool with that.

It also just seems weird to ignore the fact that the salary cap exists, and that people like getting paid money.

Magic gets a little dramatic saying he's out if the Lakers can't land a big free agent this or next summer

Magic: I'll 'step down' if Lakers miss out on FAs

I guess if you're a Lakers fan, you want to hear your guy is going for it (even if it's a veiled concession that Ball may not in fact be the man). It also has the added effect of causing KNBR to lose its shit over whether Klay Thompson will re-up his contract for below the max this summer or go for all he can get with the Lakers.
