Non-LBJ headlines for Saturday: Durant signs 2-year, $61.5M deal to stay with Warriors, George to stay in OKC.

Chris Paul to stay in Houston. In all seriousness, what does this mean for LeBron? The three big free agents* don't seem to want to go to LA. So is it LeBron to Philly where he can play with better talent or sign a 1-and-1 in Cleveland for more money and hope 2019 let's him bail for LA with the likes of Klay Thompson?

*I'm throwing KD among the three even though all accounts suggested he wasn't leaving Golden State.

It doesn't mean much. Paul was never leaving Houston, Durant was never leaving Golden State. Paul George has been saying he's happy in OKC for months.

I'm guessing this means the Lakers sign Boogie Cousins and continue to work to get Kawhi Leonard through a trade.

LeBron's going to L.A. Philly's a weird fit for him. Cleveland is Cleveland.

Wow, Chris Paul got a great deal for a guy who's missed at least 20 games three times in six years.

I think the wheels are coming off Paul in the next two years.

This seems to me to be some "let's appease James Harden" move. Because who's signing Chris Paul to that deal? And where's Chris Paul going where he could sign it? He's not leaving Harden. Leave Harden for who?

Mavs are much better off getting Jordan now than if he’d signed 3 years ago. With no Jordan, they finally got a chance to suck and get in the lottery and take the draft seriously, and now they have Dennis Smith Jr. and Luka Doncic and Jordan too. The West is so stacked, though, they might still be a lottery team.

It sounds like Paul had a nudge-nudge, wink-wink deal with the Rockets a year ago -- make the jump from the Clippers and they'll give him a max deal in a year. Because yes, that's going to be a miserable contract before it's over.

Meanwhile the Rockets lost a key part in Trevor Ariza, who will now be part of a Suns starting lineup with one center, three small forwards and Devin Booker.

Can’t be? The free agents aren’t buying their own jets just to take a meeting with LeBron to plan where they will play together? Cousins isn’t taking a meeting with King James? The King isn’t plotting how to get Klay Thompson.
Is LeBron going to play for the Lakers just to prove that he can play for another bad team and make them good and he can be the martyr of LA.

LeBron has no real contemporaries in the NBA. It’s strictly business for the mogul. He’s really beating the back the other 14 All NBA players with a stick.

It's kind of amazing. More incoherent than usual. Didn't think it was possible.

Why did Paul George sign with OKC and Russel Westbrook rather than going to LA and play with LeBron? Is it only about the money? Maybe LeBron wants to play with John Ringo.
