I figured someone was going to point that out. I should have said due-south

You do realize this a tournament? With quarterfinals, semi finals and finals (really big games, in fact) already scheduled?

Pretty impressed by Mexico here. They're not playing afraid, at least.

It wasn't a matter of if but when for Brazil. Mexico I think missed it's best opportunity right before the goal and I don't know if they'll get another one

Cleats to that part of the ankle hurt. Should have been a red card.

At worst a yellow. It wasn't a stomp.

It was probably enough that Mexico made it out of a group with Germany and Sweden. But Tri have been out of sorts in the second half. Missed communication. Not knowing where people are on the attack. Defense hasn't been great. Oh and Brazil is really good

Was a good game to watch, Mexico did try and the pace was fast. But maybe they should've just packed it in defensively and fouled more.
Better to play a better technical game and lose, or better to be outplayed and win?
Not that they would've won with a different strategy, but Russian players pretty much
said they were just hoping for it to come down to penalty kicks.

Wish they reseeded after pool play. Brazil and Belgium shouldn't be a quarterfinal.
Belgium didn't win yet, but they are a top 5 team.

A win is always better. But even selling out to try to beat a better team is fine so long as the team is playing together. Mexico had chances that ended because they weren't on the same page. But Brazil was better. I'd be curious to ask someone who knows better than me how much of Mexico's miscommunication was the result of Brazil's play and how much was Mexico needing to talk to each other
