Because LA could potentially give him more money...

    And, because Lakers.

IIRC Thompson has some family connection to the Purple & Gold, no?

Isn't his dad one of the radio broadcasters?

This is a 2020 and beyond play for LeBron. He can't expect to win the West this year. He's ultimately waiting for the free agents they will sign when Deng's contract comes off the books. The Lakers should sit on the young guys, some of whom could turn into high-end role players, and try to sign Kawhi or Klay (or both) next year.

Remember when the Lakers struck out a couple of years ago and spent money on Deng and Mozgov just because they had it to spend? Actions, meet consequences.

Cringing in advance how the WWL will hype the battle between two of its golden boys.

I’m kind of glad he didn’t go to Philly. Ben Simmons will be LeBron in a few years anyway. And Embiid is special.

Rumor is the Spurs asked the Sixers for Saric, Covington and THREE first-rounders in exchange for one guaranteed year of Kawhi Leonard.

You mean former No. 1 pick Mychal Thompson, a two-time Championship winner with the Showtime Lakers? Yes, I do believe you're correct...he's the color commentator and co-host on ESPN radio for two hours, daily.

I'm not convinced Kawhi won't be a Laker next season; and if he is, it's because Magic and Pelinka see what happened to Paul George and will want to avoid that scenario happening with Leonard.

Surprised at how few are discussing the risk of signing LeBron for four years. The guy will be 34 early next season. he's got a ton of miles on his body. His physical fitness, strength and conditioning at this point are a marvel, but that wall is not too far off and he's going to hit it, just like everyone else does.

    Ahem...

    No.

(Really good player. Well-deserving of Rookie of the Year. But no.)

Sorry, should’ve added “...if he develops a jumper.”

If he does, he will be the best player in the league within five years.
