    I don't know if Japan sold out to avoid extra time/penalties or thought there was less stoppage time left than it turned out but Belgium's counterattack might have been the best I've seen in a while

    Takes real balls to do that given that he had a half decent chance to score and it was the last kick of regulation.

    That last play was very reminiscent of Tim Howard's roll to Landon, and his carry down the field against ...Algeria?

    It looked like in the first half they were more packed inside their box. Both teams had several chances. It seemed the ball was mostly in either team's end
    for most of the match. Neither team held back.

    Yep. Howard's was a throw and far longer to Landon Donovan, but same foundation: a last-second counter that began with the ball in the keeper's hands.
