    Blade Runner 2047 or whatever

It feels like a 5-hour movie. That’s not a compliment.

The music playing over the scenes was kind of the point. It's interwoven into the story and used in many cases as a storytelling device. A bit gimmicky, perhaps, but an interesting one.

Sicario 2. A well-shot movie made by obviously smart people that says nothing at all about American-Mexican relations. Even more pointless than you'd think.

Gemini. A stylish murder mystery with Zoe Kravitz, Lola Kirke, James Ransone and the criminally underrated John Cho. Recommended.

I know it was the point. It’s a twist on a musical. I just didn’t love it

They are preparing to film It 2 in my little town again this summer. The pharmacy they used in the first one has closed since they were here, so they are literally recreating it in its former space. Kind of weird to see.

I filmed a Christmas movie in your tiny home town once. Standing in parka, boots, hat and gloves in a heat wave ... such a glamorous business, this business we call show.

Saw Coco over the weekend and I enjoyed it very much.

I didn't know much about the movie and didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Great animation and really good music and story.

Saw Ant Man 2 today. Good movie, just a little scattered. They went back to Marvel's forgettable villains. After Black Panther and Infinity War, I guess it was bound to happen. I enjoyed the midcredit scene.

I see very few movies, but I saw the Mr. Rogers documentary yesterday and it was amazing. If you grew up on him, or even if you didn't, see it. The more people see this movie, the better off the world will be.
My wife and I were meeting people there, and entered the theater as it was starting. We found our friends and sat next to them. An old man behind me yelled "the whole theater is empty and you have to sit in front of me?" We moved over without responding (my wife is more even-tempered than I am). As the movie ended, he apologized for his behavior.

Haha. I've often thought that, but I've certainly never yelled at someone over it. Kind of funny that he did it before a documentary about neighborliness.

I saw Uncle Drew over the weekend. Two thumbs down.
