But the Supreme Court—in an opinion written by Kagan—just held that SEC ALJs (and presumably others) are “officers of the United States” and therefore must be appointed by the president, courts of law, or a head of a department. The ALJs had not been appointed in this manner. So even if some of these people had been around a while, their prior appointment was unconstitutional.

“[P]eople will die if he is confirmed.” ... maybe the Harvard/Yale duopoly on Supreme Court justices needs looking at.

 

It looks like 95 percent of the people on that list are current students or recent alumni. Not exactly talking about the luminaries of the federal bar.

 

And for God’s sake, I don’t care if he’s a nice guy, a reliable car pool dad, or a nurturing CYO basketball coach.

I’m just pissed that Georgetown Prep is going to have two Justices — one who replaced a Xavier High Sxhool graduate — and Fordham Prep doesn’t have any.

Hell, even Cardinal Spellman has a Justice.
