First, that flight won’t be $99.

Add in taxes, fees, etc., and I’d think it’s four times that.

Buddy of mine went there on holiday a couple of months ago and all he did was bitch about how incredibly expensive everything was. $50 to feed two people a normal meal at McDonald’s expensive.

But not at McDonald's in Iceland, since there aren't any there.

On Wow and Norwegian, the deep discount carriers, it's a real $99 (or 109) one-way. Maybe 139 or 149 for the flight home.

But the cheapest seats have mostly sold out.

For a few weeks, the fare was $69.

What does your luggage cost? $50 each way, each piece?

Seems like they’ve got to get you somehow.

Apparently, unless you're only carrying on a paperback book or its equivalent, you'll pay for that. Check a bag? That's $48, minimum.

Depends on the ticket you buy. And how you like to travel. That's always the struggle with a la carte ticketing.

But for a vacation I'd think you can get by with one carry on.

Still works out to less than you'd spend for a round trip from New York to Toledo or Lincoln.
