I’m not specifically defending what Trump did.

But, I believe that to be his goal.

Are you condemning Trump's performance yesterday?

There were recent references to Mitt Romney's position. Here's his latest:

Can we please tone down the "attack on American democracy" hysteria?

The Russians basically flew into American internet space and acquired information.

Sixty years ago we flew mission after mission into Soviet airspace and acquired information.

It's what each party does. It's what they've always done. Gather information by any means possible, and use that information to further your interests. The modes just change based on the available technology and whatever cracks in the system can be exploited.

    I’m not sure about “comdemn”.

I think it was unfortunate and not helpful to Trump.

But, here’s why Trump’s attempt to charm Putin don’t worry me too much, even if I don't think it will be fruitful. The fact is, the Trump administration has been very tough on Russia. they just haven't made a big deal about it.

(And the media isn't going to promote this fact.)

Trump has tried to give both Kim and Putin the ability to make changes that look like a "compromise" with the U.S. A "deal". This is far preferable to these leaders than being made to look like they were forced into action by Trump.

And, here's the other thing about Trump: he always leads with flattery. It's been talked about and written about for decades.

    He thinks it works.

If flattery was out of the normal for Trump, then maybe yesterday would be more concerning, but it's entirely within his norm.

Rep. Pete King (R-NY) told reporter Manu Raju that he still stands by the House Intelligence Committee report that disputed the intelligence community finding that Putin wanted Trump to win the election. Reporter notes Putin said yesterday he'd wanted Trump to win. King says "I don't believe him."
