    Trumpists will be giddy.
A 70-percent cut? Why go on at all? Just kill the whole thing if you're going to whack 70 percent of it.

Was your blood boiling when, say, auto jobs were lost?

A good guideline to follow — on a journalism board, maybe don't be a jerk when many good journalists are about to lose their jobs.

What an idiotic statement from you. Sure, if he was an auto worker or had auto workers as friends and family, I'm guessing he'd be sad and angry. But he's talking about friends and former co-workers.

Don't have any info. Just sad that a New York institution, that has already seen massive cuts, is apparently going to be gutted.

70 percent, if true, is the cold dagger to the heart.

And while we don't need post-padding around here any more, just for emphasis: What Deskgrunt50 And Slacker Said.

If you cut 70 percent of the staff, what’s the point in staying open?

How does/did Daily News newsroom staffing compare with the Post?

The News is running negative adjusted EBITDA. I don't think Tronc can afford the losses in New York given how poorly the rest of the company is doing.
