    I read that GQ story yesterday. It is surprisingly enlightening, at least as best as can be with some things we'll never know for sure. The story wasn't very flattering to Trump, actually, who it suggests used the kid, got the hopes of his parents up that he'd extract justice for their kid (they are grieving and still want blood), and then abandoned the whole thing when it didn't serve his purposes anymore.

    One other thing, the whole "the North Koreans tortured him and put him in a coma!" thing is very likely not true. Although one theory the writer had was that the kid tried to commit suicide the day after his show trial because of the psychological toll it took on him. It suggests that the intelligence Trump was getting was telling him that, too, yet Trump was feeding the public BS. The North Koreans have blood on their hands for that kid. But Trump could give have two shits about the kid, the same way he has no allegiance to anything except himself, including our country.

    Enough time has passed that Trump's tariffs have begun to bite. Harley-Davidson had expected a loss and warned stockholders, and actually their report was better than they expected - but they still lost forty to fifty million. Beef and pork producers have been hurt badly, as China and Mexico are their two largest export markets. The country now has two and a half billion (with a B) pounds of beef and pork frozen, holding as they hope for the market to change. The Federal government is looking at $13B in support for farmers as a result of profits lost due to the tariffs... and it's just starting.

    The US has a 2.5 billion-pound surplus of meat. Let’s try to visualize that.

    Hell, Trump's even losing Fox News.

    Trump's trade war is economic suicide

    So how stubborn is he? How long until he declares victory and backs down? How long until China drops that next $200B in tariffs on the U.S.?

    Who knows?

    What an asshole. She just put 100 Chinese children out of work and the homeless across the Midwest of the US will have nothing to wear to to their methadone treatment appointments.
