Ted Cruz agrees to five debates with Beto O'Rourke. Seems odd. The polls are somewhat tight, but there's really no chance of Cruz losing.

I understand Cruz is smart and good at debating. But, he's also highly unlikeable. The more he talks, the more people realize what a weasel he really is. And the incumbent front-runner usually doesn't grant the challenger extra exposure.

Maybe the Cruz campaign has internal polling that it doesn't like?

Of course, Cruz wants the debates on Friday nights. In the fall. In Texas. If that happens, nobody will be watching anyway.

 

Nice to know Cruz is suddenly really serious about being in the Senate when it is in session - unlike when he ran for President. Friday Nights during football season, a very Hillary Clinton move.

Beto should have come back with "Well I don't know what kind of Texan Ted Cruz is, but on Friday nights I want to go watch High School Football."
