Won't fly. All material seized in the raid on Cohen was examined by a special master who said almost all was not covered. Also, by discussing the original tape, Clarence Darrow Giuliani waived privilege.

I really can't understand what happened to Giuliani. I have no idea if he was ever a really good attorney, in terms of legal strategy, briefs, etc. That is well beyond my bailiwick. But I do remember the period in the 80s when he went after Fat Tony Salerno and it turned into the Mafia commission trails, where that office had a ton of success locking up some high ranking mafia members. He was a bad ass and had earned a reputation for being a serious guy, with the public perception at least that, "Here is an honest man." Even though you suspected there was a ton of ambition there (Jim Comey said in an interview I saw during his book tour that people who worked for Giuliani used to say, "Never get between him and a microphone") and he could be relentless, he has completely morphed into something that isn't recognizable. He's not only a clown, but he has tied himself to someone for whom he is eagerly sacrificing his dignity every day.

    1. He's getting old. He's older than I am by a few years, and I'm not so far gone as to believe I could do the grind of a thrice-weekly coiumn, let alone a beat.
    2. He's very bitter that 9/11 (where he really did excel for several days in a genuine catastrophe) reached its sell-by date. Getting not just beat, but humiliated in the 2008 GOP primaries have made him a very bitter man.
    3. You said it yourself about microphones. He's back in the spotlight, never mind how.

Giulani was a prosecutor for the vast majority of his legal career. Then he became Mayor. By the time he went into private practice he was a name partner, and likely a figurehead at least to some degree, schmoozing, playing rainmaker, bringing in clients who wanted to shine by association. He had a lot of staff under him to grind out strategies and briefs. He does not have much experience in building a defense from the ground up, or indeed in being a lead defense attorney.

Add that he's out there playing spokesman and figurehead in a very partisan political struggle. He's often answering questions that he has not had a chance to prepare for. He's old and he's lost several steps on his game. He's also got to be careful what he says, because his primary audience is always Trump, so anything that comes out of his mouth goes through the "What will the boss think of this?" filter as well.

He's made a number of large screw-ups since Trump put him out there, and they will be costly as the process moves along.

Contrast this with Jared, who hired a real expert Washington criminal defense lawyer and has kept his mouth shut and profile low. Either he's much smarter than his father-in-law, much more cautious (my guess) or knows he's in much more trouble.

He also watched his dad go to a Federal prison. I am sure that has a way of making you take it seriously when the Feds start sniffing around you.

Every day, it seems, there are executive actions that seem like they should require congressional approval. Every POTUS does these things. And for the life of me, I can't begin to guess what is and is not subject to legislative oversight.

Not from what I hear. Vacuous, spoiled and entitled. She’s exactly what you’d think a trump female would be. At least according to well placed sources in Manhattan
