Didn't a court already rule that publishing the instructions/blue prints for printing a 3D gun is protected by the First Amendment?

If that's the case, I'm not sure what people think they can do to prevent someone from printing their own gun (which won't be nearly as good as a gun you can legally purchase at the store).

And, I'd find it odd if journalists are on the side of restricting this, as it's as much a speech issue, as it is a gun issue.

 

It looks like the State Department settled a lawsuit, that they would have lost. So, a judge didn't rule on it, but I'm still interested to hear how you prevent the publication of instructions.

 

And the NRA told him if he wanted to get some of their Russian rubles funneled into his campaign in 2020, he better STFU about it.

If the NRA is supportive of gun manufacturers, as opposed to gun owners, and the Second Amendment, wouldn't they be against this?

If folks are printing guns at home, that can't be good for gun manufacturers.

 

These 3D plastic firearms don't have unique serial numbers attached to them. That alone could make them illegal under ATF regulations.

The number of firearms that will be printed at home that it won't affect gun manufacturers. But wavering from a full-on, wide-ranging opposition to any and all gun laws will hurt the 2A's ability to retain members.
