Good move rediscovering this thread. Nothing like pizza talk.

And yes, that's one I would take a hard pass on.

Fold that over and call it a crepe.

Didn't remember there was a pizza thread.

    What happened to Mr. Sunshine?

Remember eating at Pizza Inn restaurants as a small child in the '70s.
Loved Godfather's growing up. We had two of their glass pop containers for years. I think they filled them for free if you brought them in.
Worked at a Pizza Hut during college. Their original breadsticks were just pan crust cooked, indented with a strip-shaped cookie-cutter then cut with the big rocker knife.
My only rule for pizza: No fruit, no marine life.
My favorite work-related pizzas are a chicken pizza and what we call The Cranky Pig.
The chicken pizza has a thin or hand-tossed crust, garlic butter instead of sauce, chicken, onions, peppers and cheese. At my former full-time paper, we used to order that occasionally from an area non-chain pizza shop.
The Cranky Pig has gone down in the lore of my part-time paper.
It was 2001 and the XFL had started.
A group of us at the paper decided to order pizza and watch the game (it was a slow night), but we initially couldn't decide on the toppings.
We finally decided to order a one of those big rectangle pizzas from a local shop. One half was pepperoni, mushroom and sausage and the other half pepperoni, sausage and bacon. Sadly, they didn't have any Canadian bacon.
When the pizza arrived, we noticed someone at the pizza place had written a sort of code on the box top to let the delivery person know what was in the box — PMS/All pork.
When I saw what was written, I said, "Hey, look, it's a cranky pig" and the name stuck.

There are plenty of bad slices of pizza in New York. Especially the crappy places (including the 99 cent slice places) that use cheese made out of a blend of polyester and Play doh. But I am always intrigued by comments like this. What is authentic New York pizza?

New York pizza as the fourth best kind of pizza in America?

There's some great food to be had in St. Louis. But pizza is not among that food.

Imo's-style pizza with the flimsy crust and the nasty Provel cheese? No thanks!

Anyone who puts St. Louis on that list is immediately discredited and offered to the world for public ridicule.
