I would say this is now Russians USED to view American schools (compared to theirs). But with all the mass shootings . . . maybe they believe it's even worse.

Not really. They didn't send troops or commanders. They sent advisers and lent "support" (weapons, etc.).

Didn't they have some other issues going on, too? Like almost getting into a nuclear war with China?

Border conflict in 1969. China wanted concessions from some 19th-century treaties around Tajikistan that they had been disputing into the 20th century.

I have no idea what you mean by your first point. I gather you are more emotionally invested in this message board than I am.

As for your question about LeBron's school, I don't think any of its strengths are emblematic of either public or charter schools. The quality of the facilities and the level of hands-on teaching instruction does not exist in the public model and it does not exist in the for-profit charter model.

LA Times Trump denies his son is at legal risk, yet concedes the 2016 meeting with Russians was to get dirt on Clinton

"President Trump on Sunday denied reports that he’s privately fretting about his son’s legal jeopardy, yet acknowledged that Donald Trump Jr. met Russian representatives in June 2016 at Trump Tower “to get information on an opponent.”

That contradicted Trump’s past statements on the meeting’s purpose and was his most explicit declaration yet that his eldest son agreed to see the Kremlin-linked figures in hopes of obtaining damaging information on Hillary Clinton. The son’s own previously reported emails show he was told he’d receive “dirt” that was part of a Russian government effort to help his father."

    *break*

"Apparently referring to those news stories, Trump tweeted: “Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower.”

Then, for the first time, the president explicitly stated the gathering’s purpose. “This was a meeting to get information on an opponent,” Trump wrote, adding that this was “totally legal and done all the time in politics.”

U.S. law, in fact, prohibits foreign nationals from making contributions to American political campaigns, including not only money but also donations of other things of material value, such as a rival’s hacked emails."

Mueller has not interviewed Don, Jr. He's taking statements from everyone around him instead. That makes Jr. a target. He gets a subpoena and testifies after that, and if anything he says conflicts with the insider witnesses or the documents Mueller has in hand, he's screwed. He's already got trouble for perjury in front of Congress. Trump is also going to have to deal with the now acknowledged fact that it was Pres. Trump who dictated what was putatively Jr's statement about the meeting. If Don Jr. goes to trial over this meeting, I don't know if Pres. Trump can avoid a subpoena to testify about that statement, and once he's under oath who knows what might happen.

Jr's trial would also open a lane for questions about the "blocked calls" and whether Trump was on the phone with Jr. before, during, or after the meeting. If so, how long were the calls, what time were they made, and what did they talk about? Did anyone from the meeting go upstairs and speak with him directly? What testimony does Michael Cohen have regarding this meeting, and how well corroborated is it?

I think that the President can be subpoenaed as a witness. How the defense from that goes, I have no idea.

At some point you have to wonder how Uday being in serious legal trouble will affect Trump. Will he go to the mat for his son? Will he roll his son under the bus and call him a coffeeboy? Will the pressure regarding this worsen Trump's erratic behavior?

    Interesting times.

Isn’t it obvious that don jr was there to talk about adoptions? I mean adopting information from Russians about Clinton? Why don’t the libs see that? (This is my prediction of what team trump will be saying by Monday at noon.)

Canada up 21.2 percent! I think that's due to our new tourism slogan, "Canada: Like America, but cheaper, cleaner, and not nearly as heavily armed. And with better chocolate."
