Scioscia wants his old job at the Springfield nuclear plant back.

It wasn't going to be a quiet exit though. His contract expires after the season, so the final two weeks would be a whole dance of -- will they bring him back or just let him walk? It's not like he has two years left after that and was burned out and wanted to leave

And the one Series win thanks to what we now know to be a Dusty Baker moment.

Alex Rodriguez is absolutely brutal to listen to on ESPN.

And Vasgersian talksandtalksandtalksandtalks and says nothing save for precious expressions. The less said about Jessica, the better.

I'm no A-Rod apologist, but it's his first year, right? He talks a little too much and tries a little too hard to be funny, but I assume he's going to get better. He's eloquent and knows the game, so I figure ESPN will give him a fairly long leash.

I was watching Indians highlights yesterday.

Have they built up the upper deck to create less seating, a la Fed Ex Field and the Redskins?

The upper deck in right is closed most games. Just not enough crowd. So they put what look like big shipping containers over the seats. Now when they have big games, they sell SRO tickets and people can go up there.

Did my first Sunday night sports desk shift in a while last night. Didn't take long to remember five things I hate about it:
    1. Yankees
    2. Red Sox
    3. ESPN
    4. Relief pitchers who can't close games
    5. Extra inning Sunday night games.

A 100 win team is pissing away the division?

Just let it go. He has two months to kill before making ill-informed statements about the NBA

The eight most beautiful words in the English language to Sunday deskers: "The Sunday night game has been rained out."
