I didn't say I was comfortable with it. Hell, I'm uncomfortable with the general narcissism in our society. I am saying Trump is more of reflection of America than he is driving it himself. He's a manifestation of the shallow, ratings-obsessed place we've become.

 

I would say that’s stupid, but that seems like the sort of thing that would really bother him.

Most celebrities don't have the pressing challenges of a struggling nation on their daily agendas.

 

And once you agree with that --- which is true --- comes the next question:

What on earth makes us assume other countries strive to be this? It doesn't matter whether Clinton or Bush or Romney or Warren or Ocasio-Cortez-Hernandez-Ruiz-Goolagong-Cawley is president: America is still "The United States of Trump."
