A friend, really, at work asked what this Manafort trial had to do with trump. He’s decently educated and predisposed to like trump, as a lifelong republican, rather tha because trump,is trump. I pointed him to the New York Times, WSJ, Washington Post to let him make the decision for himself.
I also said if Manafort and Gates trial show anything it’s that these two are just plain thieves and dishonest and thoroughly corrupt people who will do anything for money. Add them to the list of corrupt, thieving appointees that trump has made with the bumbling incompetent appointees and the outright lying and crazy appointees (Amarosa and The Mooch). Doesn’t it make you question trump’s judgment that he keeps getting it wrong with the people he surrounds himself with? Trump has terrible instincts on hiring quality. Lackeys he knows. Other pathological liars and braggarts he knows. Finding exceptional people for exceptional jobs? Huge failure. Forget policy for moment. He just surrounds himself with a low class of grifter, liar and schmuck.

There are only 2 solid trump appointees, Nicky Haley, who is unexpectedly good. And General Mattis. There’s not another appointee who isn’t in over their head, at best. And corruptly stupid at worst.

Manafort had been making $2m/yr or more from 2011 to 2014. 2015 he lost around $800k. 2016 he lost around $1.4m. He was facing taxes he didn't have the money to pay. He was desperate.

That's when he decided to go to work for Trump for free.

Cory Gardner, first term Senator form Colorado, has been elected to lead the National Republican Senatorial Committee through the 2018 election cycle. Anyone else find that kind of unusual?

Appears to be trending toward Balderson. Close is still loss for Dems.

I’m sure there is a valid reason, a law, that this special election has to be held. But it seems like a massive waste of money since they have to do it all over again in three months.

Yeah it's still a loss, but in 2016 the seat was won at 66.6% The incumbent party is down a point with 75 percent counted. That's a massive swing. Imagine the places were the gap didn't start at 17 points.

Will someone please ask Sarah Sanders for a list of each Steel plant that has literally opened each day for the month of July or August. And please clarify that it’s an American Steel plant on USA soil.

I am reminded, again, that, damn, Mueller needs to bring Russia home. The sooner the better.
