And just what "sanity" would that be? This country hasn't been sane for many years.

If Trump speaks, you know he's lying. And if he uses a word like "literally," then you know it's a five-Pinocchio whopper.

I don't think many people living in the ex-Soviet Union want a return to the USSR.

I also don't believe that the collective competence of the Communist party in Russia and their successors in the 80's and 90's was nearly as high as the Chinese communist party in the same timeframe.

And Stalin helped him by killing even more Russians.

Not NEARLY as many as the West claims.

The USSR lost 26 million in WWII. Stalin is blamed for some 20 million deaths. That's a 46 million crater in the population.

Here is the Soviet population under Stalin. No such crater exists.

The population of the USSR during the reign of Stalin increased, on average by 1.3-1.5 million per year.

    1926 - 146.6 million

    1939 - 170 million

    1959 - 208.8 million

Historian Nikolai Starikov estimates Stalin's murder total at around 650,000. Many more, of course, were sent to labor camps. But most were released after 5-10 years. Sergei Korolev, the leader of the Soviet space program (aka "Chief Designer"), spent 10 years in a labor camp.

You can put this through an English translator if you want.

    It's good and bad,

Good: because I'd imagine in that district a bunch of democrats stayed home because they thought it still wouldn't matter. Maybe he'd lose by single digits. Right now the margin is almost 1,800 and he's down by less than a percent. Throw in a chunk of those green partiers (1,127) who might actually cast a vote to make a real difference.

Bad: the republicans who stayed home because they thought it wouldn't matter. Maybe he'd win by single digits. There's a lot more Rs in the district that can vote. If they show, they win. Now it's midterms, so it's not a good comp but 2016 saw 251,000 go for the republican candidate. This special election had 202,000 total

    And it's not like its 6 or 7 precincts. It's 400. That's ridiculous
