"OK, we want you to jump from a plane into a thick forest where you'll need to rig some ropes to lower yourself to the ground if you get struck in a tree. Then you'll need to carry 80-100 pounds of equipment and food up and down ravines and gullies for a few miles. After that, use hand tools to cut a fire break about 100-300 feet wide for several miles around the fire. You might work 36 hours straight with no sleep. And here's a space blanket to cover up with in case the fire overtakes your position and you're trapped."

    NO. THANKS.

I befriended a couple of Canadian hotshots in Missoula when I was up there for a football game about six years ago. FYI, they'll drink you under the fucking table. Woof.

That Ocasio-Cortez's policies are seen as so irrational by people who think it makes sense for our military budget to include items the Pentagon doesn't want and is larger than the next seven countries combined, or who have no problem giving more tax cuts to people who aren't exactly struggling while our national debt increases - I find that harder to explain than wanting everyone to have healthcare or access to college.

This ridiculous response is just proof that type absolutely nailed you on that one. I don't like what either of you did because it is personal shit that suggests you are both questioning each other's choices with your own families and that's quite shitty, but his clunky declaration of your parenting excellence was kinda sad.

It was also dumb. People can have parenthood thrust upon them when they didn't want it, but being a good parent is a series of choices. You can't just decide to be a good parent once. You have to choose it constantly, with every sacrifice, every moment we find for our children and countless other little things.

I don't know why you spout off your idiocy regarding abortion. Maybe it is politics or religion. Maybe it is because you face challenges as a parent and you don't like others avoiding those challenges. I don't think you really believe abortion is murder. I think that is just rhetoric. We've been over that. Whatever the reason, the issue is about choice. You want to force your morality, your choices, on others.

People can spend considerable time in self-reflection and introspection and come to conclusions that differ from yours. To claim otherwise, as you did in this post, is just disrespectful folly and arrogance on your part.

Funny. I don't remember you taking that approach when it was a Democrat who was in trouble. That's because you didn't.

We can't afford any of it.
    Well, I take that back.
If DanOregon and his ilk don't mind paying 80% income tax, we can probably afford some of it.

We can afford a $4 trillion national budget this year.

There's plenty of money. The hard part is choosing what to spend it on.
