Is Dick asking what sort of advance he might get for the book he's not going to write? Just tell him to email me. I'll help him out.

Not too shitty to fix. Just that one of the important parts of fixing things is recognizing when said things are very big and thus will require much time to fix properly.

With the economic anxiety arrow missing from the GOP quiver, the party searches for other ways to hit their target.

Before Obamacare, the private insurers were in serious trouble. Had nothing been done, many of them would have been out of business as they would have priced out more customers, leading to higher costs for those still in, which would have priced out more customers.

Oh, totally agree. It's a massive system with all sorts of moving parts and parts that would prove reluctant to move.

I think part of the American problem is that every four or eight or 12 years, the pendulum swings. It's hard to get any forward progress. Trump erases Obama. Whatever Democrat replaces Trump is going to do his or her best to erase him. The next Republican will start over again. You need, like, 20 years of sane, sustainable government to remake the country.

    Not hard at all. *snorts*

I get the nature of the sentiment being expressed here, but we're all pretty comfortable deciding what cops and soldiers and firefighters and teachers should get paid.
