I expect there to be some evidence that he used the word, if someone is going to accuse him of using it.

To date, there is none, and yet the media has picked up on the story, we're discussing it here, and @Dyno thinks she has tapes of him saying it.

 

Except for the fact that the media has been searching for such a tape for a couple of years now, and that anyone who brought forth such a tape would be a hero, you make a good point.

 

I won't believe these tapes exist unless they become public, but YankeeFan, your defenses here are ridiculous.

To claim she can't be trusted, but we can still trust President Trump is just more of your hypocrisy. To claim that we would have already seen or heard the evidence by now so it must not exist is ridiculous.

Someone made an accusation. The only one whose credibility matters here is the person making the claim.

They've presented no evidence. They specifically say they've never heard the man say the word. They cite only unnamed sources who claim the tapes exist.

This shouldn't even be a story.

I don't think YF "expects" you to believe a single thing Trump says.

Nor is he claiming "you" can trust Trump. "He" trusts Trump, because Trump's policies mirror his own views. But he has zero expectation for "you" to trust Trump, because he knows your views are opposite. The very least he "expects" from you is that, in the event the Dow hits 40,000 or some insane number and the economy grows at a 3-4 percent rate, you might acknowledge that, hey, some of this insane shit may have worked.

This story stopped meaning anything to me the second I read this line:

"Ms. Manigault Newman said she never heard Mr. Trump use the word herself..."

Is this really anything new? We heard these same reported rumors of there allegedly being Apprentice N-word tapes during the election. That went nowhere. All she's truly doing here is repeating those rumors. That ain't much of a story.

And, no, Dyno, she does not claim to "have it on tape." Read closer. She only claims to have been told that such tapes exist. Until somebody actually produces a tape, this won't mean much.

Based on how these things have gone almost universally — the Stormy and McDougal payoffs, Steele dossier etc. — the most likely scenario is that the recordings exist but Trump and Cohen/Sekulow have locked them up with a legal copyright case, with hush money and an NDA, or by selling them to his National Enquirer buddy to be buried forever.

But there’s a greater than 90 percent chance that it happened. I’m confident of that.
