Mark Burnett has a lot to answer for. Why has he been protecting trump for years. Did every single person connected with that show sign a non disclosure agreement with a significant payment? When it comes to trump or any POTUS I do t think a court will uphold the NDA. When speaking about a government official, even if the speech relates to their pre-service time, it’s a 1st Amendment violation, speech and press, at best and would be contrary to public policy.

 

MGM owns Burnett's production company, although the man has given us a lot of bad TV over many years.

 

This one is different because it coincides with the anniversary of a Trumpist high holiday, Charlottesville.
While many of these Trumpist get-togethers have fizzled, as you indicated, the date alone gives me pause.
Permits don’t have to be granted. The reason the permit isn’t automatic is that the First Amendment provision here is the right of peaceful assembly. Emphasis on peaceful.
Having said that, I think rejecting the permit in this case would have been a mistake because it would have agitated the Trumpists even more. They would have shown up anyway but with even more vitriol on the brain than normal.
