It's the heel thing to say that Tiger still won't win another major, but how can you see it happening as long as Koepka, DJ and the rest of the bomb squad are out there? Koepka did not give a flying bleep that Tiger was making a charge.

Holy shit, I love how Koepka handles these wins. Total cyborg. Hell, he makes it look like he can barely tolerate his girlfriend.

Because he's seven combined shots from winning the last two majors?

This is silly. The bomb squad was all at the Open Championship, and Molinari won. Woods got off to a bad start on Tuesday in a tournament where it was clear before it began the winner would have to go very low. He lost two strokes on a lip out and a putt that died on the lip today. Koepka played great and deserved to win. But to say a second place finish means a guy can't ever win another major is foolish. I won't say he's sure to, because that's foolish, too, but it's a live possibility for at least the next two years unless (big unless) Woods hurts himself again.

Yeah, Carnoustie still has to sting because he didn't have to hit driver that often. But at the big courses he's not going to keep getting by with driving it like this. There's too many guys capable of putting on stripe shows.

He's live, but it's not a definite. Though the golf media will keep telling you so.

Enjoyed the hell out of that final round — both Tiger's scrambling and shot-making, and big bad Brooks not giving a rip and closing it out. He's a hell of a golfer.

Favorite CBS kiss-PGA-butt moment was when Justin Thomas, on the 10th hole (I think), went way left off the tee and apparently clocked a guy right in the head. As cameras searched to find his ball, you could see fellow spectators rush to put cloth/pressure on the side of the spectator's head. I assume he was bleeding, but we'll never know because CBS instantly cut away from him and never showed the guy again.

Usually they make a point of showing the golfer signing a glove and handing it over when someone's hit — unless they're hurt really bad.

Woods shooting 64 considering he hit it all over hell and half of Missouri on the front 9 is incredible.
Faldo said thats the greatest 9 holes hes ever seen.

Watching the whole Tiger career (still have 97 Masters on literally tape!) I’ve gone through the “what an ass” phase to damn “ that was fun watching potential history” point. Admittedly I’m rooting for history.

If he can hit the driver like on 18 maybe he’d have a shot at Masters.

It's still golf. It's a sport where any top-level player can get hot for a week and win any tournament. That's how we have John Daly, two-time major champion.
As long as Tiger is healthy and playing regularly -- something he hadn't been for most of the last 10 years -- he'll have his opportunities for the next three or four years. He might or might not win another major. He certainly won't win the five he needs to pass Nicklaus. But he will have his opportunities.

There are a hell of a lot of ifs on this thread.

It's golf, man. The only certainty is that there will be ifs.
