I agree that it would help the Mariners to hang on and win today, but they trailed the California Angels by 12.5 games on 8/15/95.

 

Whew. Mariners live another day by scoring two in the 12th, then Diaz shuts the door for the save.

It's almost like the manager was right to have confidence in his other bullpen guys. Weird.

 

Didn't say you couldn't. But you sure would like to beat the team directly in front of you when you can and be only 2½ back.
