Someone should make a movie about a college coach - it could be an indie flick without any game action since so much of this stuff happens in the off-season. Dealing with boosters, dealing with administrators, dealing with recruiting, his family and other commitments. And play it out without the BS.

It's been a while, but wasn't that Blue Chips? IIRC, the whole thing took place between seasons. It picks up right at the end of one season. The big game with Indiana at the end was the next season opener and the only game action in the whole film.

It was still a "Hollywood movie." (and this is an offshoot of BlueChips discussion) - I figure you could do one that is more intensive. Blue Chips celebrated the corruption as much as they mocked it.
Monday - coach finds out about a player or other staffer getting into something, an assistant says its handled.
Tuesday - A paper catches wind of it, someone has a cell phone video. Coach talks with AD and says its handled.
Wednesday - Past instances of coach and other staffers "handling" these types of events come out.
Thursday - Students rally for coach. More outrage stirs. It becomes a national issue.
Friday - Coach looks for support among boosters and admins. They say he'd have a stronger case if he made the tourney or a bowl last year and they fire him to avoid a $15 million payout.

I thought it opened with game action, just a bit of the final game of a bad season.

The acting is about as good as it gets. The story is OK. It leaves a nice little discussion to be had after the final scene, so it’s a quality film. It’s not an all timer, but a very good movie overall.

The Cruising Vessel in Fast Times at Ridgemont High has a Springsteen bumper sticker. Raises my respect a notch for Brad.

Phoebe Cates, best nudity in movie history, non-porn catagory.

It was released on video on demand a month ago. I have to think the minimal theatrical release was only to satisfy some contract or legal point.

Jasper Jones on one of the cable channels. Basically the Australian version of To Kill a Mockingbird (probably my favorite book and movie from when I was a kid. So many similarities, it was pretty good. And the book/movie Breakfast at Tiffanys has a small but significant role in the plot, which I'm sure was on purpose due to Truman Capote's connection to mockingbird.

I think "Zyzzx Rd" still beats it for lowest gross in box office history. IIRC, it made $13, which was the price of two matinee tickets or something like that.
