2. What’s the trump base going to do when they find out the ideological driver of the trump administration, Stephen Miller, is a gay Jewish Duke grad, and a bottom at that?

I really thought this would have happened sooner. They must be thinking that his distractions are a much better way of getting their changes made than if pence---creep that he is---was a mature potus and policy was the issue, not the clown show. I really, really thought they would have turned sooner, I suppose there was not an easy was to get rid of him without alienating their voters. But they still have 2 years.

 

You guys are making a mistake in thinking political philosophy has anything to do with what Republicans in congress are doing here. This is pure self-preservation. They realize it's almost impossible to get through a Republican primary without a MAGA hat. They'll kiss Trump's ass all day long if it means re-election.

The test is in November. If all the MAGA dipshits lose in the general there's an outside chance the mainstream GOP finally decides to stand up to him.

 

That's not how they think at all. Their Trump lesson is, "oh, we weren't overtly racist enough to win elections before. We can fix that. Also, a great many, probably a majority of, Congressional Republicans believe everything Trump does. They're just not in obvious cognitive decline nor as lazy as he is.
