Kelli Ward once exchanged text messages with a reporter co-worker regarding her views on Obamacare. She said it is "every bit as bad as slavery." She angrily accused him of making up that quote and asked where he thought he heard it. He pointed out that he was quoting word-for-word from the text she had sent him one minute earlier.

Kelli Ward is carnival freak show crazy.

There's a commercial running in Arizona with Martha McSally accusing Kelli Ward of being a dangerous liberal, which is absolutely fucking hilarious to anyone with even a slight knowledge of Ward's schtick.

Pretty funny to see Trumpists' lord and savior all tied in knots over whom to support: the total nut job who resembles him or the virulent bigot who resembles him.

For the record, it's not just you. Most reputable conservative writers are doing their best to "write around" the Trump White House. National Review, The Weekly Standard, Wall Street Journal are more than comfortable handing off the Trump adulation to the "American Greatness" types.
Considering most of those sites aren't about making money - but spreading a conservative message, they'd probably pay you to run them.

Brennan said that it was very seldom used, and that the only time he had been called to use it since Trump was elected was to testify in a judicial matter.

The heart of the issue is not the utility of the clearance, it's Trump stripping it because Brennan calls him out on his bullshit, loud, often, and very cogently. It is an issue of free speech vs. a President using his power abusively against a political enemy. There is no reason to pull Brennan's clearance other than Trump being thin-skinned, vindictive, and pissy.

But how is Brennan having security clearance a free speech violation? He's still free to draw on his years of expertise to evaluate and comment on a given situation. Same as anyone else. Whether it's political retribution or not (I'm not arguing that it isn't), there are millions of people without clearances, and hundreds of people without them that do the cable TV talking head circuit.
So isn't he basically saying he has a legal right to access to classified information for the purpose of divulging it to the public? If anything, that would seem to back up Trump's argument that it's worth pulling his clearance.

All of this is getting worse. There are too many cowards, too many liars, not enough healthy institutions to resolve this in a proper way.
The only way to get rid of this dipshit is to neuter his Congress and then vote him out.
I have no confidence he will ever face the long powerful arm of justice.

I don’t have a problem with Avenatti running for office, but he really ought to pay a modicum of dues (as Obama did in 2004) before going all the way.

So what’s the rub in that race? Haven’t seen a poll. Assuming the “R” will win. There’s a narrative Arizona will go purple at some point. Not sure I believe it. And if it happens, it’s 10-15 years away.

My two cents, it’s a message to silence others who could be potential whistle blowers on illegal activity. And it lays the groundwork to pull clearance for a those investigating him. Which is troublesome.

The whole thing with Brennan is largely a petty move against a political enemy. But it also is more of a brain drain in Washington. Most administrations would value the option of consulting with experienced people who have been there and done that.
