What investment? You realize that, in virtually all markets in this country, Internet access is, at best, a duopoly? Verizon and Comcast aren't investing in anything except for marketing. You -- and all other net neutrality skeptics -- are theorizing as if it would be an efficient market with perfect competition. It isn't anything close to that. So why spend so much time wailing about what everybody already knows? Trump's an asshole. He's ignorant. He attracts a lot of assholes and ignorant followers, along with 100 percent of the racists in this country. Everybody who is ever going to agree with you already does. Anybody who still disagrees with you isn't going to suddenly see Jesus in this latest bit of pandering. So what's the point? Trump pulls this shit because he knows people will take the bait. Daemon, I think you are falling for what Bloomberg columnist Jonathan Bernstein calls the "clever fallacy," that is, attributing deep motives to words and deeds by Trump that are simply the product of impulse, especially his habit of parroting the last person he talked to on any subject, since his own lack of knowledge makes all information seem new to him. Ideas come and go in his head with dizzying speed. I am reluctant to attribute strategic thinking to a man who has TWICE confessed to crimes in national TV interviews.
