Question to Tiger Woods following the final round of The Northern Trust

According to the transcript on ASAPSports.com, Tiger Woods was asked this question following Sunday's final round of The Northern Trust:

"Your relationship with Donald Trump, how would you describe that professionally and personally?"

Who asked that? What was the reaction in the room?

Going off the Twitterz, so take it for what you will, it was a NY Times reporter, working on a larger story. Woods gave the Jordan/Jeter vanilla answer, respect the office, etc.

Edit to add: Wasn't there and haven't read about room reaction. Twitter was the usual mix of "you're awful, you're fine, you should die, great answer and stick to sports."

Strange. Tiger's not likely to ever give anything but a vanilla answer to that, but the better chance to ask would be at his Tuesday/Wednesday press conferences where he's been pretty open and reflective (for him) the last few months. In the post-round gatherings, especially on Sundays, those guys just want to get outta there.

Also, if the script is accurate, then there is nothing in the phrasing that says to me that the media was trying to goad him into saying something he didn't want to say.

They were pretty dumb questions for a post-round press conference.

Any question that asks Tiger about political activism is pretty dumb to begin with.
