The comparisons to Sotomayor don't hold up, as she had no Judicial experience, let alone 12 years on a (the) top appeals court.

This won't help message-board traffic, but perhaps it's the way to go.

Read the book, take it at face value while trying to avoid bias, judge anonymous sources and take away from it a fair assessment.

If you read it determined that everything anti-Trump is right without providing some cogent thought ... don't bother reading it.

For every one person who reads a Woodward book, there are a million who read the stories about the juiciest excerpts, and I'm not saying the millions are necessarily wrong. His books are long, and even in Trump's White House, much of governing is kind of dull.

 

Their denials, as have been noted frequently elsewhere, are quite faint.

 

The excerpts from Woodward's book confirm every bit of reporting by many others, observation and Trump's own Twitter feed - it's a government run by mean-spirited incompetents. One of the most famous journalists in the world is writing an important book about the presidency and Trump first lies about hearing a request to interview and then admits to constructing a work place where his employees are either too scared or too clueless to tell him Bob Woodward wants to speak to him.

Even the most enthusiastic members of the cult should recognize the basic level of competence that's missing. He's got control of the government and can't get his wall built, can't fix healthcare, can't boost charter schools, can't solve North Korea, can't help Puerto Rico, can't fix Flint's water and on and on. He's cut regulations and taxes on the wealthy, which any breathing Republican could do - some without the racism, corruption in the administration, constant lies, embarrassing sex scandals, the attacks on Veterans, allies, NATO, free trade, the 1st Amendment, private businesses, his own Justice Department and on and on.
