Ohhhh I'm catching up! Still a few pages to go, but I hope we figure out why Kelly and Mattis might deny they called their boss a fucking moron. I can't figure out why they would deny that if they had, in fact, said it at some point.

It might have been easier if Woodward just listed the names of people who have worked with trump who didn’t call him a fucking moron.

It’s also possible that they called him a fucking idiot and a goddamn moron. But it got confused in the retelling.

Duncan Hunter is going to really catch it if his wife chooses to unload on him. How many days ago did Trump talk about how this good man was being unfairly accused?

When will the Republicans break? They got their tax cut, they've screwed Obamacare as hard as they could get away with, they've gotten two Supremes and the court majority. If the midterms are a body blow, do they continue to suck up to Trump or do they virtue signal as they abandon him? The investigation is going to nail him, sure as hell, because there is a *ton* of evidence out there, Mueller has lots of it and Trump keeps supplying more.

I'm wondering if events will lead to some breaking ranks before the election. No way to tell. I suppose it depends on what happens, on how many more news days on the order of this last week they choose to withstand.

No, the safest if most cowardly thing to do is head for the foxholes, keep the lowest possible profile, and hope to get through the elections minimizing losses with big dark money expenditures. Worst case scenario, Dems take the House and THEY can torture Trump while you wring your hands about it all without being required to take a stand. There would be more Jeff Flake-Ben Sasse type moralizers without action, but that's as far as it'll go. Now, if Trump's trade war tanks the economy (most unlikely), then there might be full scale desertions.

A protester at the Twitter / Jack Dorsey hearing just got up and started yelling stuff, and one of the Congressmen who is an auctioneer, started doing a fake auction patter into his microphone to drown her out. It was definitely one of the odder things I have seen at a Congressional hearing. She gets escorted from the room, and Congressman Auctioneer says, "I yield back." It was actually pretty good.

So folks protesting during one hearing are going to help the Republicans, I guess that means whackadoos interrupting a different one will help the Democrats?

Also, I love Rep. Long going into auctioneer mode.

Trump did say he was popular. Apparently with the ladies.
