I settled for a fourth-quarter nap on the couch and woke up for the final couple minutes. Lousy game overall, yes, but darned if the NBC prime-timers don't always go down to the end. I can't drag through work after every NFL night game this season if I don't drag through work after the first.

As a Tevin Coleman fantasy owner who is playing a Devonta Freeman fantasy owner this week, I can't complain either.

The rumblings have already started this morning on the local squawk radio.

And it's not just one game; it's now almost a 20 game theme. Amazing how he's dismantled or wrecked Shanahan's record setting offense. With essentially the exact same personnel.

And there's Greg Knapp waiting in the wings. Although, I don't see that as any salvation--never felt he maximized the weapon that was Michael Vick when he was here the first time.

It's a shame because the defense is pretty damn good. But, this has the looks of 8-8 right now.

The greatest limiting factor on maximizing the weapon that was Michael Vick was Michael Vick.

There are way more weapons this year than 04-06 when Knapp was there. It was either Dunn up the middle, Vick on a scramble, or Vick drop back and chuck it 70 to Peerless Price.

  6. Boring game.
I couldn't keep my eyes open and went to bed with under 4 minutes left.

    Steelerjack:
Ian Rappaport says Bell will report to Steelers tomorrow. And collect his $800,000 week 1 game check.

The question is what Bell does if he thinks he's being overworked. Will he actually take himself off the field? I really wouldn't put much past him at this point.

Cannot figure out how an offense with an effective quarterback and Julio Jones fails to get it done.

Ryan was anything but effective last night.

The early game is Lions-Jets. Late game (Rams-Raiders) should be much more interesting.

ESPN should work to persuade the NFL that there should be more Monday night doubleheaders.

Correct. But that comment was based on his career to date, not a shaky game.
