I'm not a lawyer either, but I'm sure there have been a lot of spies who in their minds were doing something to protect their country and it probably didn't help them. Same with a lot of other criminals who believe their actions are justified for one reason or another. At some point motive doesn't, or shouldn't, matter.
Plus, I'm not sure sabotaging the president and sabotaging the country are two inseparable things. Whoever this person is, could be seriously influencing policy through their actions. Just because they think that's the right thing to do doesn't mean it is.

Go back and look at your post. You presented a very straightforward argument within that post: this guy with the billboard is doing well, and that tells me the economy is doing well. Anything you said in the past is irrelevant to the point you were making in that post. It was entirely self-contained.

Perhaps you need to learn to communicate better.

The other argument is that someone as vile as Trump deserves to have his obit include impeachment in the first sentence.

What people don't understand is, they think a big number is good all by itself. They view it in a vacuum, which is nonsense. If we build the wall, GDP will rise. Why? Because billions will be spent in hiring contactors, designers, workers, materials, etc. This will be a big boost in the economy. Lots of people will make lots of money. But if that money comes from borrowing, and thus our national debt is increased, it's actually not a very good thing. Taxes may have to be raised, which leads to less consumer spending.

So, in 2014 we saw, for the year, a 2.5% growth in GDP. Not good, but not really bad either, when you look at it in a vacuum. But, 1) the QE ended, and 2) the ACA was in full effect. That cut jobs and/or less hours. More firms went to part time workers so they did not qualify. So government spending went up, helping the GDP growth, but it hurt the economy overall because of lost jobs.

What we are seeing now is a growth in GDP because of the Tax Act. That has led to more consumer spending. More consumer spending is what you want over government spending. It's the Hayek/Keynes argument all over again. The Hayek model is much better, in my opinion, because your national debt is minimized while still seeing economic growth. That's money that does not need to be paid back to anyone.

I get that, but you could take that argument to extremes. For instance, the president, in a fit of crazed pique, orders a nuclear strike on, oh, say, Russia. The soldier in the silo doesn't take the order; he doesn't fire, knowing that Russia will return fire. Nuclear war is avoided because of the choice he made.

    Did the soldier commit treason?
