    How'd that cholesterol test go?

The main thing about JJ's is that they sell lettuce sandwiches with some meat thrown in. At least that's my experience.

I generally prefer a hot sub to a cold sub.

Any hot sub at Jersey Mike's tastes like a microwaved sweat sock.

Yep; we gave it two more shots and it was so shitty we moved out of town to get away from it...

...and now we've lived for a year and a half in a town that is finally, finally getting my fave sandwich chain. You can have your all-bread-no-meat Jimmy John's and your good-but-limited-choices Jersey Mike's. I'll take:

One of those opened in my town within the last year. A bit pricy, but very tasty. A better-quality version of Quiznos.

Orange chicken with noodles. So good.

I had a lot of Panda Express in college.

After posting this, we ate at Jersey Mike’s last night because they were doing a fundraiser for the school where my wife teaches. The deal was a regular sub for $4. Got two subs and two drinks, which should have been like $13 and I was charged $6.97. I told the clerk I had two sandwiches and she acknowledged that but didn’t charge more. I guess Mike reads sj.com and cut me a break.

Interesting menu, but who eats a loaded sub that also has chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks piled on top?

The Fat Jerry and Fat Breakfast items seem like food porn overload. You see a lot of that on menus now. It's weird.

Perhaps Jacksonville’s finest export (sorry, Southern rock and or nu metal fans).

Another good-to-great Jaxvegas sub shop is Larry’s Giant Subs, but it’s franchise reach is pretty limited.

My problem with Firehouse was they went away from their cheaper, healthier options in the past year or so. They used to have a menu of smaller subs with fewer than 400 calories. In the locations near me, at least, those have disappeared.

I enjoy having access to a bunch of different flavors of Fanta Zero, though.
