Since it's obvious the Supreme Court is now a partisan body, whichever party winds up in control of both the White House and Congress will pack it to their liking. The idea of an independent judiciary is long gone.

Oh, we definitely reached this point as soon as the Republicans refused to even have a hearing for Garland, but you're just making up what you think would happen with a nominee who was closer to the middle politically.

What we have evidence of is pushing back against a candidate who has been caught lying and is now facing an ugly accusation of sexual misconduct.

But we seem to have reached the point where there are no more nominees who are closer to the middle politically. Or at least not ones who will be portrayed as such. Even if they are, they're going to be painted as extremists or scoundrels by the other side.

I think one of the tragedies of Merrick Garland is that, objectively, to most rational observers, he was a good, well-qualified, centrist judge.

In fact, if Trump weren't a raging dumb asshole, and if he were a president who truly cared about the good of the country, he'd scratch Kavanaugh and nominate Garland. It would be a sea change and correct some recent historical wrongs that are clearly going to reverberate for decades to come. It would also help the Republicans in the midterms, I would imagine. It would take a lot of steam out of the left.

She has been threatened with death. She has moved out of her home. Thriving. Yeah.

Trump says he found inspiration for border wall at memorial for Flight 93 victims

President Trump said he found inspiration for his long-promised wall on the U.S.-Mexcio border during a visit to the Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania, which honors the lives of 40 people killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

“They built this gorgeous wall where the plane went down in Pennsylvania, Shanksville. And I was there. I made the speech,” Trump told Hill. TV. “And it’s sort of beautiful, what they did is incredible. They have a series of walls, I’m saying, it’s like perfect. So, so, we are pushing very hard.”
