Anyone know how Lake Norman fared? I love that place. Largest man-made lake in the world, you know?

It's fine. Trump is relieved, too, since he owns a golf property there.

President Trump asks about Lake Norman while surveying NC’s Florence devastation

And it's not the biggest man-made lake in the world. Trump got that wrong, too, when he visited Charlotte three weeks ago.

I think they'll have to check the law ... see if you get to keep it.

I'm wondering if that's North Topsail. There is a pier in the background. From that angle, I can't place it at either Surf City or Jolly Roger. It could just be the optics. Just to the north of Surf City Pier is sort of the business district of SC. Just to the north of Jolly Roger is a hotel. I don't see either of those things in the pic. The density is more SC than the other two. It's hard for me to pin down.

I'm kind of on a mission now to figure it out. I'll be back.

It might be on North Shore Drive. If it's Surf City, that's where it is.

Yeah, I think those are on North Shore Drive. I'm not up that way much. The depth of field in the photos makes it look closer to the pier than it is. That's what threw me.

These were posted today on Surf City Pier's Twitter account. The first one is facing south off the pier; the second one is facing north. Both of my brothers-in-law are supposed to be headed to TI sometime today, and then I'll hopefully have some accurate first-hand info of what it's like.

EDIT: The text didn't come through like I thought it would. The Penderlea fire department washing dead fish off of I-40 near Wallace.
